The SBB Ticket Shop is its "ticket machine" for electronic tickets (OnlineTickets and MobileTickets). Ticket Shop allows you to buy your tickets quickly and easily at home using your computer or while on the move using your smartphone. Whether online or mobile, buying tickets has never been easier.
Buy your ticket at your computer and print it out in the comfort of your own home. Show the printout to the ticket inspector.

To buy a ticket, you need a computer with an Internet connection, PDF reader and printer or you can use a smartphone. You also need a credit card, a PostFinance Card or a prepaid card (Visa/Mastercard).

By completing the simple, one-off registration process for the SBB Ticket Shop, you can use mobile and OnlineTickets wherever you are, whenever you want. Your personal access data allows you to buy tickets securely with just a few clicks, whether online or mobile.
Click on the red "Register now" button on the right-hand side. This takes you to the SBB's registration page.
Enter your details and choose a user name and password.
Define your preferred method of payment (optional at SBB Ticket Shop). You can save the method of payment as a default so that you don't have to enter it again later.
Click on the red "Register now" button below. This will take you to the SBB registration page.
Open SBB Mobile and click on the "Tickets" option in the menu list. Select "Tickets for Switzerland", for example.
Select the product you want, for example "Standard ticket Switzerland".
And don't forget: with SBB Mobile you can also buy "1-day travelpasses" (9 o'clock, for children, for dogs), "Class upgrades", "Night supplements", "City-City Tickets" and "Regional fare network tickets".
Route: Enter the desired date and the departure and destination points of your trip and click "Continue".
Define your ticket in more detail by selecting the class, a single or return trip and any discounts (e.g. Half-Fare travelcard).
And did you know: under "Alternative tickets" you can also add a City-City Ticket of your choice. This entitles you to unlimited travel by tram, bus or S-Bahn at the departure and/or destination points.
Check the items in your shopping cart, add other passengers or redeem e-vouchers. Now click "Continue" to complete your purchase.
Once purchased, the MobileTicket is stored on your smartphone under the "Tickets" menu option. To present your ticket, open the SBB Mobile app and shake your smartphone. The last ticket you purchased will be displayed immediately.

And by the way: buying your next ticket will be even quicker. All the connections you have bought tickets for are automatically saved under "Favourites" and can be renamed individually. Simply tap the connection you want, check the details and complete the purchase.
Buy the ticket for the connection you want from the online timetable by clicking "Fare/buy" next to that connection.
Enter your name and date of birth and select the class, a single or return trip and any discounts (e.g. Half-Fare travelcard) and click "Continue". The price of the ticket and any special offer recommendations are displayed immediately.
If you do not yet have login details for the SBB Ticket Shop, click "Not yet registered?" and register. This will allow you to purchase tickets even more quickly in future, as you can save your favourites, your personal details and your preferred method of payment in your own SBB Ticket Shop account.
You can also continue with the purchase without logging in. To do this, click the "Skip login" button.
Check the items in your shopping cart, delete tickets, add other products or redeem e-vouchers. Next click "Buy", select the method of payment and complete the purchase.
Once you have purchased your ticket, you can print it out as an OnlineTicket. Present it to the ticket inspector on the train together with your travelcard or personal ID.
If you cannot present a valid MobileTicket for inspection, you will have to buy a ticket on the spot. In these cases, a supplement is usually charged. As a rule, we recommend that you check the battery life before departure and take a charger with you.
You can have unused MobileTickets refunded. To claim a refund, complete the online application form. A handling fee is charged for refunds.
If you have registered at the SBB Ticket Shop, the data you submitted will be used automatically in the future. Your data is transmitted in encrypted form, so you needn't have any worries concerning security.
MobileTickets can be paid for using a valid credit card (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club), e-vouchers or a PostFinance Card.

MobileTickets may only be used in conjunction with an official and valid identity document (passport, ID card, driving licence) bearing the customer’s name. Half-Fare and GA travelcard holders can show their travelcard as proof of identity.
You must purchase your MobileTicket before the scheduled departure of the mode of transport.
Purchased MobileTickets are stored under "Tickets" – "Show Tickets". If the MobileTicket you have purchased no longer appears, you can view it again under "Show Tickets" – "Please update".
When the app is open, just give your Smartphone a little shake and the last ticket you purchased will appear immediately.
Yes. You will be invited to register at the SBB Ticket Shop the first time you try to buy a ticket. If you already have a log-in for the SBB Ticket Shop, you can use the same details. And if you still don't have an account, you can create one now in just a few steps.
MobileTickets are always only valid on the specified date. This applies to single and return trips. If you do not intend to make the return journey on the same day, please purchase a single ticket for each leg of the journey.
Additional conditions for Swiss tickets:
You can check whether the transaction was successful by tapping on "Tickets" in the SBB Mobile app. If your ticket is listed there, the purchase has been successfully completed. If the ticket you have just purchased does not appear, tap "Please update". If the ticket is still not displayed, the transaction could not be processed and your credit card or PostFinance Card has not been debited.

Yes. You will need the surname, first name and date of birth of the relevant person.
Are you travelling as a group with 10 or more people? Then it is simplest to book your journey using the group travel tool. In the group travel tool, only connections within Switzerland apply. You may only make bookings for international group travel at the ticket counter or via Rail Service on 0900 300 300 (CHF 1.19/min. on the Swiss fixed-line network).

If you only shop occasionally in the SBB Ticket Shop, you can also select the option "Purchase without login" after making a selection. However, with this option you have to re-enter your address each time you make a purchase.

You can purchase and print out your OnlineTicket until just a few minutes before your train departs. Please note that only some international tickets are available as OnlineTickets. We recommend that you book international tickets no later than three working days before your departure in the SBB Ticket Shop.
Once you have purchased your OnlineTicket, simply follow the link provided to download it. You can then print it out using the print function in your PDF reader. (Please do not use the print function in your browser.)
In order to view and print your OnlineTicket, you must have a PDF reader installed on your computer. You can download Adobe Reader free of charge here.
If you are logged into the SBB Ticket Shop, you will find «My orders» under «My account». Select the desired OnlineTicket. You can open it at any time and reprint it.
If you have purchased your OnlineTicket without logging into the SBB Ticket Shop, please follow the link in your confirmation e-mail to download the ticket.
For a fee of CHF 5 the OnlineTicket can also be printed out by SBB staff at the counter.
You can also have your OnlineTicket sent to you via MMS on your mobile phone. You can only receive the MMS ticket for selected routes.
You have the following payment options for purchasing an OnlineTicket:

For OnlineTickets the ticket counts as the receipt. No separate document is available. You have the following two options to call up OnlineTickets again that have already been purchased:
Register in SBB Ticket Shop with your user name and password. The OnlineTickets you have bought are listed under «My account», «My orders». To look at the details of individual purchases, click on «Select». Please note that international tickets do not include VAT.
To receive a quarterly VAT receipt for the OnlineTickets you have purchased, please proceed as follows:

Under «My account», «For business customers: VAT receipt», you can activate the field «Please send me a quarterly VAT receipt for purchases made in the Ticket Shop».
Complete the compulsory fields and save the details.
The OnlineTicket is only valid in conjunction with an official ID in the name of the passenger (passport or identity card). For holders of the Half-Fare travelcard or GA travelcard it is sufficient to show the travelcard.
The OnlineTicket is valid per journey for that calendar day specified at the time of purchase. Subsequent changes or exchanges are usually not possible. A return journey within 10 days may only be selected for tickets with a distance of more than 116 km. For shorter routes, the outward and return journeys must be booked separately if these are not made on the same day.
No. OnlineTickets are personal and non-transferable. When tickets are checked you must therefore show a personal identity document (passport or ID card). For holders of the Half-Fare travelcard or GA travelcard, it is sufficient to show the travelcard.
Refunds for OnlineTickets are permitted in the following cases:
If you have purchased an OnlineTicket and not used it because of one of the conditions above, please complete the application for a refund online. An administration fee is charged for refunds.
If you are unable to show the OnlineTicket to the checking staff, e.g. because you have left it at home, we recommend that you purchase a ticket at the ticket machines or at the counter before the train departs. The unused OnlineTicket can then be refunded. In such cases, complete the application for a refund online. A processing fee is charged for refunds.
You may also print out your OnlineTicket at the station for a fee of CHF 5.
If you are unable to show the checking staff a valid OnlineTicket, you must purchase another ticket. In such cases, a supplement for passengers travelling without a valid ticket is normally charged.
The transport companies cannot guarantee that OnlineTickets can be checked effectively on every electronic device (e.g. laptop). For this reason it is compulsory to show OnlineTickets as an A4 print-out.
